Shrink Sleeve Film for Dairy & Yogurt Bottles

Dairy bottle shrink sleeves are white or printed PETG film labels that block light to protect milk and yogurt from photo-degradation while providing full-body branding on HDPE and PET dairy containers. As a film manufacturer we supply the White PETG rollstock; dairy brands and their converters print and apply the finished sleeves.

Why dairy uses opaque white film specifically

Dairy is one of the few sleeve applications where the film's job is not just decoration but light protection. Light exposure can degrade light-sensitive nutrients and drive off-flavors in milk and yogurt, so the label should ideally block light across the full body of the bottle. That is what our White PETG shrink film is built for: an opaque base (transmittance ≤30%) that both conceals the contents and gives a solid, high-contrast surface for print. Dairy brands buy the finished printed sleeves from converters; the converters buy this White PETG film from us.

Which film for milk, yogurt, and recyclable PET dairy bottles

Match the film to the container material and the branding need. Most milk and yogurt bottles are HDPE or PP with a gentle taper, where White PETG (TD ≥75%, MD ≤3.0%) wraps the full body and blocks light. For premium PET dairy bottles that need to stay in the recyclable PET stream, CPET (TD 74±2%, RIC 1) lets the sleeve be recycled together with the bottle. Where a clear-window or high-clarity accent is wanted, Clear PETG can run alongside the white base. The white pigment slightly lowers TD shrink versus clear PETG, but ≥75% is more than enough for standard dairy body sleeves.

Why converters pick PETG over PVC for dairy

Dairy runs at high line speeds and demands consistent color, and PETG carries both. White PETG gives dense, opaque coverage with excellent print contrast, contains no chlorine, and — unlike PVC — is recyclable in the PET stream. It accepts gravure, flexo, and UV inkjet ink directly with no corona pre-treatment (surface tension ≥38 mN/m), so converters get a clean surface for the bright, high-coverage graphics typical of dairy shelves. The sleeve decorates the outside of the bottle, adding shelf appeal and light protection without changing the container's own construction.

How we supply dairy sleeve film

We manufacture White PETG, CPET, and Clear PETG shrink film on 3 production lines, slit to width from 200 to 2000 mm in 30–60 μm gauges. Standard orders start at 1 ton (MOQ 1–3 tons), and every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis. Dairy brands should give their converter the bottle material, sleeve height, and whether light-blocking or PET-stream recyclability is the priority — we then supply the matching grade. We supply the film only; printing and application are handled by the converter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use white film for dairy instead of clear?
Light can degrade light-sensitive nutrients and cause off-flavors in milk and yogurt, so an opaque body sleeve is preferred. Our White PETG has transmittance ≤30%, blocking light across the full bottle while giving a solid, high-contrast white base for print — something clear film cannot do on its own.
Do you sell printed dairy sleeves or the film?
We manufacture the White PETG (and CPET / Clear PETG) shrink film in rolls. Printing the artwork, seaming, and applying the sleeve to the bottle is done by your label converter or bottling line. Dairy brands specify the design and bottle; the converter buys our film to produce the sleeves.
Which film works on HDPE milk bottles vs PET bottles?
The sleeve wraps the outside, so it fits HDPE, PP, and PET bottles alike. White PETG (TD ≥75%) suits most milk and yogurt bottles for light-blocking coverage. For PET bottles that must stay recyclable in the PET stream with the sleeve on, CPET (RIC 1, TD 74±2%) lets label and bottle be recycled together.
Does the white pigment reduce shrink performance?
Slightly. The white pigment lowers TD shrinkage a little versus clear PETG, but White PETG still delivers TD ≥75% with MD ≤3.0% — more than enough for the full-body sleeves on tapered dairy and yogurt bottles. For severely contoured shapes, request a batch-specific test report.
What are the widths and minimums?
Rolls are slit from 200 to 2000 mm wide in 30–60 μm gauges. Most standard orders start at 1 ton (MOQ 1–3 tons by grade, thickness, width, and color). A4 sheet samples and 300 m / 2000 m short rolls are available so your converter can trial the film first.
